In 1995, 14 gray wolves were reintroduced into Yellowstone National Park. By 2007, the wolf population inside Yellowstone had grown to approximately 171 individuals with population numbers dropping to 78 in 2012 due to disease and natural attrition.

This member of the Canyon Pack has survived another year in Yellowstone and now prepares to face the harsh winter season ahead.
