GOODBYE OLD FRIEND

After a long and storied life, Yellowstone's famous Bull Elk Number 10, died in April 2013. Some of my fondest early memories of Yellowstone were watching Bull Elk Number 10 and Number 6 spar near Mammoth Hot Springs. From what I've read, the splendid old gentleman was between 16-18 years old when he passed. Although he was no longer battling with other bulls, I often l saw him relaxing in the shade of the aspens above Mammoth or grazing near Wraith Falls. This iconic bull will be missed.
